The results of our March 2023 study for Greenlight was recently highlighted as they announced their first of its kind credit builder for teens under 18. For our survey we recieved data from 1025 respondents, half of which were teens from 13-18, and the other half parents of children in that same age range. The majority of parents (68%) responded that they have had a difficult experience in their lives as a direct result of having poor or nonexistant credit history. Of the teens surveyed 42% stated they did not have any knowledge of what a credit score is. Many parents (80%) expressed interest in a better solution for teaching their children about credit.
