This year’s Festival of NewMR concluded with a live debate on “What’s Hot in 2014?” Much of it looked at where we are, and I’ve already written about the discussion of what was hot in 2013 – online communities. In a positive sign, in a survey of 70 attendees of the webinar, 39% said that “2014 will be better for MR than 2013,” compared to just 14% who said it would not be as good. For many, the economy is improving, and the research industry along with it.
