We conducted an online survey [PDF] of 168 respondents for WG Content from October 17 to November 27, 2023. When asked how their organization typically plans content, the majority of respondents (38%) indicated that they do it ‘ad-hoc’ or as needed. This was followed by 35% who use a formal editorial calendar. Those who have monthly editorial meetings were next (25%), and only 2% didn’t use any content planning. We also found that over 40% of respondents indicated they outsource all or almost all of their content writing. In total, 85% of respondents outsource at least some of their content writing.
