To better understand the role religion plays in modern politics, we conducted an online poll for Religion News Service of 1,087 U.S. adults from August 16-19. Of our Floridian respondents, 67% say religion will play a role in determining who they support in the 2024 election, with 21% of these voters believing that religion is an essential aspect in choosing a candidate. Out of all US participants, 84% believe that religion has led to divisions in society.
