On behalf of ArcSite we conducted a survey of 1,000 homeowners about their past experiences with contractors. The study, which can be downloaded for free, was conducted in late 2021, and uncovered some surprising statistics related to repair work. For instance, our data shows that 42% of homeowners budget less than $1,000 for home repair work – with 16% saying they budget nothing. It’s no surprise then, that homeowners seek out more than one bid for a repair or renovation job. 95% of people said they get more than one bid, and a majority often get three or more bids. This means that contractors should always expect competition, so standing out from a stack of quotes is key to winning more jobs.
