The second part of our research for Blue Yonder has been released, titled the Future of Fulfillment Research Report, this survey, conducted in October 2020 asked 300 senior executives in the retail and e-commerce industries questions pertaining to the future of physical and digital US markets. The survey saw 50% of those asked responding positively in regards to reexamine their fulfillment strategies to better address their consumer’s needs, with the Covid-19 virus playing a role in this strategic shift.
The survey also highlights the growing shift away from physical shopping, as e-commerce grows, the need for automation in fulfillment networks also rises, with 14% of current retailers using automated systems and a predicted 21% having fully automated in the coming year.
