Part 1 of our survey for Blue Yonder has been highlighted in an article that goes in depth on the increasing strain being felt by retailers as a result of the COVID-19. In this report, conducted in October 2020, 300 senior executives in the e-commerce and retail industries shared their opinions on the direction the markets are heading. From the article “Retailers are adding fulfillment centers as e-commerce revenues rise, but not all are keeping pace with their supply chain infrastructure.”
Of particular note is that prior to widespread lockdowns, e-commerce revenue as a percentage of total revenue increased by 33%. To meet this increased demand 71% of executives stated they are expanding their logistics networks, ideally helping them adjust to this new landscape.
