Our survey for VisitPay investigated the growing fears and doubts felt by patients during the COVID-19 epidemic. We surveyed 1661 adult patients in the US from November 10-13 2020, with a series of questions about how the pandemic has impacted them financially. A majority of those polled felt that the coronavirus is the biggest source of modern financial stress.
The poll also highlighted some interesting statistics in regards to the current economic landscape “This all comes in the context of a serious economic crisis. Sixty-one percent of respondents said this recession in 2020 is having a bigger impact on their families than the 2008 Great Recession.” Hopefully the coming months will see medical services making things easier for patients to interact with, as 31% find their medical bills frustrating to deal with.
